Technology And Equipment

Dentistry is one of the fields that has been most improved by technology. Over the last several decades, we have seen so much innovation in our tools and equipment. Technology enables us to more quickly and reliably diagnose a problem and improve our dental treatment methods.

If you have gum disease, technology can help that, too. We have an AMD Picasso, which is a soft-tissue laser. We use the AMD Picasso to treat periodontal disease. They are faster than cutting with a scalpel. They do not bleed as much, resulting in lower infection risk and quicker healing time.

We have an Excelsior Prexion 3D – Cone Beam Scanner 3D Imaging machine. That machine replaces traditional film X-rays. Instead, we use 3D imaging to provide detailed images of your mouth, teeth, and gums. The process is faster and less invasive than traditional X-rays. It also reduces radiation than X-rays. So, we get better results, and you get lower risk.

iTero Intraoral Scanner

iTero Intraoral Scanner

The iTero Intraoral Scanner is a cutting-edge digital scanning device used in dentistry. It provides a more comfortable and efficient alternative to traditional dental impressions. The scanner uses laser and optical scanning technology to capture highly accurate 3D images of a patient’s teeth and gums. These images can be used for various purposes, including treatment planning, orthodontics, restorative dentistry, and creating custom-made dental appliances like crowns, bridges, and Invisalign aligners. The iTero scanner eliminates the need for messy impression materials, enhances patient experience, and allows for faster and more precise dental treatments.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography Scanner

CBCT Scanner

CBCT scanners (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) are specialized imaging devices used in dentistry to capture detailed 3D images of the oral and maxillofacial structures. It provides a more comprehensive view compared to traditional dental X-rays. CBCT scans are valuable for diagnosing and treatment planning in various dental disciplines, including implantology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, and orthodontics. The scanner rotates around the patient’s head, capturing multiple X-ray images that are reconstructed into a single 3D image. CBCT scans allow for precise evaluation of bone density, tooth orientation, root canal anatomy, airway assessment, and detection of dental abnormalities or pathologies.

Invisalign

Invisalign

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth and correct malocclusion (bite misalignment). The treatment involves a series of custom-made aligners that gradually shift the teeth into their desired positions. Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable, transparent plastic material that is virtually invisible when worn. They are removable, allowing for easier oral hygiene maintenance and the freedom to eat and drink without restrictions. The treatment process involves periodic check-ups with the dentist or orthodontist to monitor progress and receive new sets of aligners. Invisalign offers a discreet and convenient alternative to traditional braces, making it a popular choice for teens and adults seeking orthodontic treatment.

If we notice an issue requiring restoration, we must envision how your mouth looked before sustaining any injuries. We can use our Cerec Prime Scan, 1 MCX, 1 MCXL milling, and CAD/ CAM Dentistry to help us design restorations. With this technology, we can personalize a dental treatment plan just for you. We can also use it to help you show you how your teeth will look like at the end of the project.

While working on your teeth, we need an up-close view of everything. We have a Zeiss Microscope that lets us see even tiny details. It can change your results, ensuring they are excellent, especially during dental surgeries. We even have microscopes with video and digital photography, so we can show you what is happening inside your mouth. The CS 1500 Digital Intraoral Camera is one such tool, allowing you to see real-time images of your teeth, gums, tongue, and palate. Plus, we have a digital cavity detector, which uses ultraviolet light to let us see cavities before they are visible to the naked eye. The earlier we see a problem, the earlier we can fix a problem.

One of our patient favorites is the prophy-jet polisher. Traditionally, tooth polishers consisted of a rubber cup that used abrasive paste to polish your teeth. We use an air-polishing system that combines pressurized water and baking soda. It relieves a high shine!

Technology also enhances your customer care experience at our dental office. We use Care Stream Practice Works to securely store your medical records for easy access. We offer noise-canceling headphones to help you block out the noise from your procedures. We also have flat-screen monitors so you can watch TV while we work and see your teeth when we discuss approaches. Of course, we also offer free Wi-Fi for our patients.
